temperature resistance
High temperature resistance up to 1600 °C.
Tensile strength
High tensile strength and springback.
Thermal conductivity
Low thermal conductivity.
PROPERTIES
Our Polycrystalline Mat 1600°C is a lightweight flexible mat needled with polypropylene threads made from high purity polycrystalline wool. The polypropylene threads allow a higher strength and flexibility of the mat. The temperature resistance is up to 1600°C. Our Polycrystalline Mat 1600°C can be used in a variety of applications. It is particularly suitable for applications where shot (melt beads) are not desired or where resistance to corrosion is important.
Advantages
- High temperature resistance (up to 1600°C)
- Low thermal conductivity
- no visible shot
- Thermal shock resistance & durability
to chemicals - High tensile strength and springback
- insoluble in water
- suitable for veneers and anchor modules
PRODUCT TYPE
MATERIAL
Polycrystalline wool (PCW Poly Crystalline Wool) consist of fibres with a very high aluminium content (Al2O3 > 70 wt.-%). They are produced in the "sol-gel process" from aqueous spinning solutions. The subsequent heat treatment causes the previously produced, water-soluble green fibres to crystallise. Polycrystalline wools are generally used at application temperatures > 1300 °C or, in the case of critical chemical and physical application conditions, also at lower temperatures. The first production of polycrystalline wools can be traced back to the 1970s.
Product variations
Roll goods
Fibre mats are sold as standard in rolls. The roll length depends on the selected thickness. As standard width we have 610mm wide rolls in stock. Double widths are available on request.

Moulded parts
We manufacture moulded parts according to your specifications. In the process, the roll material is
- Waterjet
- Punch
- Plot
into the right shape for you.

Fiber modules
We manufacture according to customer specifications fiberModules designed to meet the insulation requirements of industrial furnaces, ovens and heaters.
